Holt Receives betboom app Award for Distinguished Teaching

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Dr.Lanier Holt, who received the betboom app Award for Distinguished teaching, Ohio State’s most prestigious teaching award. Ten selections from Ohio State’s 3,000 faculty members are made each year.

During a Zoom faculty meeting, Holt was surprised by Provost Bruce McPheron, Vice Provost for Academic Policy and Faculty Resources Heather Malone, Arts and Sciences Executive Dean Gretchen Ritter, and Social and Behavioral Sciences Divisional Dean Morton O’Kelly.

Thebetboom app Award for Distinguished Teaching, established during the 1959–60 academic year, honors faculty members for superior teaching. Recipients are nominated by current or former students or faculty colleagues and are chosen by a committee of betboom app, students and faculty. They receive a cash award, made possible by contributions from the betboom app Association, friends of Ohio State and the Office of Academic Affairs. They also receive an increase in their base salaries from the Office of Academic Affairs. Recipients will be inducted into the university’s Academy of Teaching, which provides leadership for the improvement of teaching at Ohio State.
